Willie, dressed in best of sashes,
Got in the grate and burnt to ashes;
Pretty soon the room grew chilly,
But no one liked to poke up Willie.

This is an obvious rewrite of Harry Graham’s ruthless rhyme “Tender Heartedness” published in 1901.
