Ruthless Rhymes for Martial Militants

Nelson Harding was a Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist who did a series of cartoons called “Ruthless Rhymes for Martial Militants.”
These cartoons were written in response to the militant activities of The Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), which was the leading militant organization campaigning for Women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom.
Harry Graham’s work was an obvious influence on Mr. Harding’s cartoons — not only in the name, but also in form and tone.
